Hi! I’m Jill!
I knew what I wanted to do when I was still in high school. I spent countless hours in the dark room, carrying dripping strips of film from class to class. I went away for school, so I could study in photojournalism. From there I worked in newspapers and at magazines, both as photographer and photo editor. You probably don’t care to read my resume, but I wanted you to know where I’m coming from, so you can understand why I’m so passionate about documentary family photography.
I have two boys (#boymom!). The one in my belly in this photo is now four, which I can hardly believe. My big baby is eight. And, let me tell you, TIME IS FLYING BY. I find myself sometimes too busy to grab my camera, and I often regret not taking pictures after a special moment has passed.
My house is messy. I’m guessing your messy house might be stopping you from thinking a documentary session is for you. Here’s a little secret: everyone has a messy house sometimes! Embrace the chaos! That’s where the good stuff happens.
Don’t let time fly by. Don’t miss the opportunity to capture the memories. One day soon, they’ll be grown.
