Not a lot of kids know what they want to be when they grow up by the time they’re 16. I did. I spent so many hours in the darkroom, carrying strips of film from class, I think it was pretty obvious that I had found my true calling, my passion, my future career.
I headed off to the University of Missouri (MIZ!) to attend their prestigious journalism school, and from there I headed into the world of newspapers. My husband, Michael‘s job brought us out to Phoenix over seven years ago, and I decided to give family photography a try. I’m so very glad I did. I love photographing families, their joy, laughter, their connections, and yes, even tantrums. Life, real life, is all of those things.
Now I’m a mommy, too, and I understand even better how important it is to document your life, your everyday, ordinarily wonderful life. See that picture up there? My darling baby boy is totally licking my husband’s hand. Weird? Yes. Normal? For us, yes. A wonderful memory? It is now. Let me do this for you (perhaps minus the licking). I can’t wait.
