You guys, one of my absolute favorite people had a baby, and he is damn cute. Meet Hank Wilder (isn’t his name dreamy?!). I got to spend time with Hank and his parents as we documented a day with a newborn. I’ve gotta say, it might have made me miss the newborn phase a little bit. There may have been tears (mine, not Hank’s) while I got my baby snuggles. Seriously. I have a problem. Mom hormones, am I right?
This lady. I don’t think she really needs in introduction, I’ve been photographing her and her work for so long now, you’re probably sick of her. Kidding, that could never happen. Carrie Bloomston is so amazing, if Hillary weren’t running for president, I might write Carrie in. The world could really benefit from her kindness, passion and compassion. I wish I could see the world the way she does, so full of vibrancy and creativity and art.
Carrie’s new Dreamer fabric line for Windham Fabrics is simply stunning, and will be available early next year. You can see more and read all about it in the look book. My favorite fabric in the line is a very special print of hand-painted bees. From Carrie:
“Bees are threatened and we can’t exist without them. The bees need us and we need them. Join me and Windham Fabrics to spread the buzz and BEE THE CHANGE! (Windham Fabrics and I are proud supporters of the Xerces Society for Pollinator Conservation. Read more here to find out what you and your family can do to save the bees and protect the pollinators.”
I am so thankful that you keep asking me back to photograph your work, Carrie. You truly inspire me, and I love you!!
I had the most lovely afternoon with this family. Angie asked me to spend a few hours with them to do a Documentary Family Session, and I could tell she really understood how important it is to capture the ordinary everyday, and was so excited for the session. Her kiddos were awesome, and we all had the best time watching a movie, getting ice cream, and swimming at grandma and grandpa’s house. It was a nothing special afternoon, but one of those magical times you look back at as an adult and remember so fondly. I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to have been there to solidify those memories for their family.
We’ve known Stephanie and Jim a long time, even before we photographed their wedding in 2012. When I heard they were having a baby, I was so excited, as I knew they would be stellar, loving, generous parents. One week in to parenthood, and I was so right. It was beautiful watching them with their little Ava, and I can’t wait to watch her grow.
